Ramadan on Wheels
About Ramadan On Wheels (ROW)
Ramadan on Wheels (ROW) is a volunteer-driven initiative with the spirit of gotong-royong to support low-income families and underprivileged elderly. ROW, held annually since 2001, focuses on delivery of food rations to the beneficiaries during the month of Ramadan. Additionally, ROW is part of 4PM’s family development and youth empowerment initiatives.


Eligibility Criteria

1) Applicant must be a holder of Singapore pink or blue NRIC.
2) Only 1 applicant per household will be allowed to apply. Individuals who are in prison, shelters and welfare homes are not eligible.
3) Monthly household income not exceeding $1,500 or per capita income of $650 or less.

Curriculum
The thematic and integrated curriculum approach caters to the needs of the child. It aims to tap children to their zone of proximal development. It enhances the child’s self-confidence and creativity, while encouraging him/her to seek knowledge.

Virtual Coding for a Cause
Virtual Coding for a Cause" is a unique volunteer opportunity for MayBank employees to contribute their technical expertise and creativity towards solving challenges faced by non-profit organizations in Singapore. The event includes the following components:

Project Kick-off: The event begins with a virtual kick-off session where representatives from partnering non-profits present their challenges and requirements. MayBank employees can choose projects aligned with their skills and interests.

Coding Sessions: Volunteers collaborate virtually in small teams, working on coding projects that address specific needs of the partnering organizations. Projects may range from developing websites, mobile apps, or software solutions to streamline operations, enhance outreach, or improve efficiency.

Mentorship Opportunities: Experienced developers within MayBank can volunteer as mentors, providing guidance and support to less experienced team members. This mentorship aspect encourages knowledge-sharing and collaborative learning.

Showcase and Feedback: At the end of the coding period, there is a virtual showcase where each team presents their completed projects. Representatives from non-profit organizations provide feedback, and teams discuss potential implementation and next steps.
